With the upcoming release of Season 2 come several teasers and trailers, which showcase more of Jinx and Vi’s mental health in the aftermath of Season 1. As such, it’s crucial to analyze what are the sisters might go through for the second and final season of this amazing show.
In the final trailer, Jinx is now seen as a symbol of Zaun’s independence — the true daughter of Vander — and has the approval that she craves. But, she seems to be more confused and reluctant to be the symbol of Zaun’s movement. Another thing to note is that at the near end of the trailer, a few frames show Jinx wearing a shark hoodie with some of her hair dyed purple, as well as having glaring red eyes and X’s painted on her arms. Though it is currently unclear what the change in style is for, we can assume that she may be fighting in such an outfit, using it as a disguise or an attempt to bring back her past self. Whatever her intentions may be, we can’t wait to see what Season 2 of Arcane has in store for us, especially with the expansion of the story.
Also in the final trailer, there are a few seconds Vi in a new outfit, which shows her in punk attire. She’s in a pit fighting arena screaming to the crowd. In the sneak peek, “Nothing to Lose”, we get to see Vi’s life in what appears to be her current state of mind. She’s taken up drinking, fighting, and practicing for the pit, eventually losing a lot after too much drinking. She’s also hallucinating Caitlyn, her romantic partner. From what I can guess, it seems that there was a falling out between the two lovers, perhaps due to politics or differing methods of taking care of Jinx. Another thing to note is the amount of screaming, which seems to be a combination of despair, anguish, and regret. It should be noted that we do see Vi in an enforcer's uniform in the final trailer, so this suggests that she’ll be going through a conflict of loyalty and depression as a result of Season 1.
